Distance Running Development
Our Endurance Development Program is designed for athletes aged 10–18 who want to grow as runners, build strong habits, and develop a genuine love for the sport. Whether new to middle-and-long distance running or an experienced athlete preparing for competitive racing, this program helps runners build the endurance, strength, and mindset needed to succeed - all in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment.

This program focuses on:

Endurance Training
Build aerobic capacity and stamina through structured mileage, tempo runs, and long intervals.

Speed & Mechanics
Improve running form, stride efficiency, and turnover for faster, smoother racing.

Strength & Mobility
Develop leg and core strength to handle training volume, prevent injuries, and maintain proper posture throughout races.

Race Strategy & Pacing
Learn how to distribute effort, read competition, and execute smart race plans across varying terrains and distances.

Mindset, Recovery & Enjoyment
Develop mental resilience, healthy recovery habits, and a genuine enjoyment for running that lasts well beyond the season.

Olympian Elite offers limited financial support to families experiencing genuine hardship. We have one boys scholarship and one girls scholarship available for this season.

OUR Coaches
Coach Sally Hauser
Girls High School Coach

Sally Hauser is a Stanford alumna, All-American, and elite distance runner who competed professionally for Nike, bringing a deep passion for endurance training and athlete development. Currently coaching at Menlo School, she has guided numerous successful teams and athletes to achieve excellence in cross country and track. Drawing from her collegiate and professional experience, Sally brings a balance of technical expertise, individualized coaching, and genuine mentorship to every athlete she works with.
Coach MiLes Bennett-Smith
Boys High School Coach

Miles Bennett-Smith is a high-performance distance coach who led Menlo School’s varsity boys to the 2024 California State Championship and became the first Division V team to qualify for Nike Cross Nationals, finishing 15th nationally. He builds modern, science-driven training systems that develop disciplined and resilient athletes. A former multi-sport athlete, state XC finalist, and Stanford graduate who also teaches History and Journalism at Menlo, Miles combines competitive experience with an approachable coaching style — and still runs fast enough to train with (and sometimes beat) his athletes.
Coach Keith LArsen
Boys and Girls Youth Coach

Keith Larsen is a versatile multi-sport coach with experience leading athletes across cross country, track & field, volleyball, and middle school basketball. With a coaching style grounded in fundamentals, consistency, and athlete-first development, Keith brings steady guidance and well-rounded expertise to every team he leads. His ability to coach across disciplines reflects both his deep knowledge of sport and his commitment to helping young athletes build confidence, skill, and a love for competition.
